Homemakers Expo is back!
I can hardly believe that a whole year has passed and we are back at the Dome setting up for yet another home lifestyle show stopper our 16th.
Today was the first day of build-up and approximately 30% of the 590 exhibitors moved in to build their stands. The Dome sounds like a major construction site with excited voices, grinding and hammering. The air is also sticky with the smell of wet paint.
Every year I find it amazing how quickly time passes here, the one moment it is 9:00 am and the next 18:00. This is a huge venue, the show takes up 16 000 square metres and when you run around inside it is easy to lose track of time.
The Green Living feature is starting to take shape! This great initiative, presented in conjunction with Indalo Yetho will show homeowners how they can go green. Today the floors were installed (bamboo – living room, cork bathroom and bedroom and stone fruit in the kitchen) and the walls painted inside and outside with eco-friendly paints.
Tomorrow the kitchen and bathroom guys will move in and on Wednesday the furniture and small fixtures arrives.
Have a look at our video and some of our build-up pics.

post a commentIts an awesome sight to see an entire show being built in just three days from an empty Dome to something quite spectacular.
Then, its almost sad to see exhibitors tear down their stands that they've put so much time and effort into.
