Food for Frugal Thoughts

Hestelle Robinson

“Money’s too tight to mention, Oh mo-ney mo-ney mo-ney mon-ey.  Mo-ney's too tight to mention!”  Mick Hucknall’s words still seem to ring true today, and as economists predict that we will be in this financial clamp down for at least another 4 years it’s time to be less frivolous and more frugal.

Take a look at these interiors decorated with, well essentially junk.  Funky Junk though!  This trend seems to gain momentum in both in the USA and Europe, locally it also hit a nostalgic and creative nerve.  I’ve come across so many people who have gone scavenging through Ouma’s stuff and now old and new sits proud in the same living room.

So next time before you throw out the trash, re-imagine your waste and make sure that there are no hidden treasures waiting to be transformed!

May inspiration find you.
