For today’s blog I want to try my hand as a gypsy and will venture into the craft of predicting the future ...

I do believe that retro vintage is the craft route to follow in 2012, think 1940 meets 1970.  Apart from colours, material and style there will be a rediscovery of forgotten crafts, the biggest of which will be, wait for it .... macrame!  Yeah!  No need to blackmail your aunt Brandy for her orange and brown owl potplant mobile!  Macrame will resurrect in an uber cool twilight form.

Macrame will be seen, like it has never been seen before and the colours will range from earthy natural to bright jewel colours such as honeysuckle, yellow, deep red, teal and purple.

T’is the season to be frugal so materials will range from rope to reclaimed ties or old curtains.

Time line? 12 - 18 months.

Watch this space... I will check in again in a couple of months to see if I can quit my day job, put on a pretty frock, lots of bangles and join a gypsy clan.  (Or take my knotted ego to a scrapbooking class).
