Embraced in the beautiful town of Somerset West in the fertile basin of the Helderberg Mountains, lies the prestigious Wine Estate, Lourensford. A fantastic venue for functions and outdoor events, the estate offers a memorable experience for visitors, and many good reasons to keep local folks coming back regularly.
The deli has a tasty selection of really good cheeses, it's difficult to stay away from the blue cheese! While you're there you may as well pick up a chilled bottle of Chardonnay, and in case you like red wine as well (as we do, yes) add Lourensford Shiraz Mourvèdre Viognier 2008 - I like this one, though of course preference is your personal taste. And ... since we're talking wines, the Honey Liqueur is really unusual, sweet, so thus the blue cheese. Again, personal taste, that combo may not be at the top of everone's pairing list but I love it! Use with biscuits, obviously, don't pour the wine over the cheese. Though actually, now that I think of it...
