Global pressure on fresh water resources is growing annually and unless something drastic is done, 60% of the world’s population could suffer critical water shortages within 40 years with catastrophic results, according to research by the International Panel for Climate Change (IPCC).
With this in mind, Cobra Watertech has reaffirmed their commitment to their “Go Green” mandate when manufacturing water and energy saving products.
Cobra has an extensive range in its Water Saving Collection – products that are eco- friendly and stylish at the same time. These include sophisticated bathroom fittings, showerheads, toilet flush mechanisms, taps and mixers – all which can save huge amounts of precious water.
The main range includes Cobra’s electronic taps and mixers that deliver water only when activated – when hands are placed in front of the sensor. The Cobratron range also features a preset to deliver only enough water for the required function.

Cobra’s water-saving showerheads are designed with an ingenious yet simple and robust pressure compensating flow restrictor component. The design of this device allows no more than 9 litres of water per minute to pass through it, but does not disrupt the spray patterns of the showerheads. These showerheads are all fitted, as standard, with pressure compensating flow restrictors.
Some of Cobra’s showerheads feature various functions, including champagne spray, pulsating massage spray, power spray, water saving reduced spray and pause.
Each day millions of litres of fresh water are flushed down the toilet – in many cases more than is actually required. The Cobra flush valves allow for adjustable water delivery and non-hold open function. These can be preset to deliver only enough water to clean the urinal or toilet and no more. Cobra’s dual flush toilets are fitted with a dual flush activation that will dispense either a 3 or 6 litre flush depending on the need.
Considering that less than 3% of the total water available on earth is fresh water and only 1.6% of that is actually drinkable, add climate change, urbanisation, increasing world population, industrialisation and economic growth, it is obvious that everyone needs to be more responsible and make an effort to be “more conservation conscious and do our bit for the environment”.
