Philips is one such innovative eco-smart manufacturer,  They launched their EcoVision program quite a few years ago and it is still going strong. Philips Green Products have a significant improved environmental advantage for customers, users and society in one or more of the Philips green focal areas: energy consumption, packaging, hazardous substances, weight, recycling and lifetime reliability.

We decided to find out more about their latest three electrical products, especially designed to save energy and to make life a little easier.

How to choose energy-efficient appliances:

Know what you want

It is essential to know exactly what type (for example a top-loading washing machine or a front-loader) of appliance you want and what this appliance must be able to do (specifications). You must also know exactly how much money you want to spend on your appliance, keeping in mind that eco-friendly technology is more expensive than regular appliances. But also remember that you will safe a lot more money by using this type of appliance in the long term and that you will also be doing your bit for the environment.

Check the Energy label

This label must be attached to almost all appliances by law. It tells you more about the amount of energy the product will utilise in a year’s time. It will also tell compare the product’s energy usage to that of others in order for you to be able to make an informed decision.

Ask the right questions

If you would like to obtain more information on energy-efficient products or feel unsure of what exactly to look for, ask your store assistant to help you out. They will be able to tell you where you can find the most energy-efficient products, tell you more about a certain product and be able to compare it to other similar devices.
