We would like to introduce the product to all and trust that Government housing departments will share our vision in driving this as a community project for the benefit of the less fortunate. Considering the affordability of the product and the low cost in operating it, it is an important step to assist people who would otherwise probably never have access to hot water.
The geyser we offer is a tankless instant water heater, which is connected to the household supply and it heats up water from cold to between 45° to 50°C in approximately 1 minute. It provides a constant flow of hot water at 4 - 5 litres per minute for as long as is needed. If no more hot water is required, it is switched off, which makes it extremely energy efficient and economical to use. One liter of paraffin produces about 200 liters of hot water and at between R6 /80 and R8/00 a liter for paraffin, it is by far the most economical geyser on the market. The standard selling price is R 1995-00/unit including VAT, it is also by far the most affordable geyser on the market.
For as little as R100-00 a family of 4 can provide themselves with hot water for a month!
The geyser comes complete with all necessary fittings including a shower head and two brackets with which it can be attached to any interior wall. Installation is very simple and does not require skilled labour. The geyser is robust but also very neatly finished with powder coating. No maintenance is necessary except to replace wicks maybe once a year.
It would be ideal if this geyser could be implemented with all new low cost housing projects and home improvement schemes. In our current marketing campaigns into existing townships, the response has been phenomenal and sales are growing fast. It is proof of the absolute need for this product.
Regarding the use of paraffin, it is the cleanest burning fuel available in the market and is widely available to all communities, which makes the geyser very suitable to their circumstances.
Although the geyser has been tested and certified safe by Senior staff members of the Emfuleni Fire Department, it will be submitted to the S.A.B.S. for approval in November. We have already had discussions with staff members of the S.A.B.S. before production was started to ensure that the geysers would comply with their requirements.
Large scale use of this geyser will also benefit Eskom in terms of electricity savings. We are involved in discussions with senior management of their technical division regarding a subsidy which would benefit buyers.
Basic operation:
- The geyser consists of 3 parts, i.e. a burner, the main body and the chimney
- At the bottom end of the main body, there is a cold water inlet connection and at the top end a hot water outlet connection.
- Cold water from the house supply is connected to the inlet.
- The hot water outlet is connected to a shower/bath and/or a kitchen sink
- The burner is opened and filled with paraffin.
- It is then ignited and closed by means of a swivel action.
- Within 1 minute, the hot water outlet can be opened and the geyser produces hot water continuously for as long as is required.
- When no more hot water is required, the geyser can be switched off by inserting a steel tool provided with the geyser.
- The geyser comes complete with all fittings, a shower head and two brackets with which it is attached to an interior wall.
- Installation is very simple and does not need skilled labour, but installation is included in the price.
- It is very nicely finished and comes powder coated.
- It is installed so that the chimney extends beyond the roof.
- It has been certified safe by fire department specialists, but will be submitted to S.A.B.S. for approval as well as soon as stock arrives.
