Cape Town HOMEMAKERS Expo is thrilled to announce that DARG (Domestic Animal Rescue Group) has once again been chosen as the beneficiary organization of the ‘for the love of CONCRETE’ Design Competition.

The Expo organisers were blown away by the success of the 2017 competition that raised a hefty sum for DARG (Domestic Animal Rescue Group) that they decided to host it again in 2018.

Both Cape Town HOMEMAKERS Expo and World Of Decorative Concrete (WODC) are delighted to work with DARG again based on their professionalism, and their determination to make last year’s campaign a triumph.

Based in Hout Bay, Cape Town, DARG rehabilitates and re-homes lost, abandoned, abused, and neglected animals and educates local disadvantaged communities and in particular their children. The facility is currently home to some 230 dogs and cats.

The worthy DARG projects that will benefit from the funds raised from the Concrete Design & Art competition at the 2018 Cape Town HOMEMAKERS Expo are:

1. Completion of the Education Centre which will be used to teach children about the humane and ethical treatment of animals through practical workshops and interaction with DARG animals.

2. Free Pet Sterilisation to qualified families to help reduce unwanted litters which lead to neglect, roadside pet selling, strays and abandonment.

3. Kennel donations to dog owners from Imizamo Yethu and Hangberg who have sterilised animals.

DARG does not receive any Government funding and relies on the goodwill of the public and corporate friends to keep its doors open.
