Engineered wooden floors are in high demand these days, as they offer an artificial wood look with natural feel. The top layers of this flooring system contain real hardwoods and supported by rubber-like trees from Hevea vines that grow on central core material; below it all out there’s softwood at base level providing stability while keeping things light weight.
Grandeur laminate flooring is a beautiful and luxurious alternative to traditional hardwood floors. The long, wide planks with V-groove make it the perfect choice for your living room. And thanks to the PressXpress® system, installation couldn’t be easier.
What do I need to do if I want to coat my wood floor myself?
The first piece of advise is that if you don’t know what you’re doing, seriously consider bringing in a professional. Your floors are a big investment in your home and if anything goes wrong, you will need to have it all redone anyway.
If you have taken this into consideration and are still set on a DIY job then here are a few tips.
Ensure that the surface you are coating is clean and dry. Remove previous paint by sanding or clean with a chemical stripper. Don’t oversand though. When you are sanding, remember to use long straight strokes and sand in the direction of the grain. Never shake your coating as it creates bubbles, rather use a flat stirrer.
